Snowflake challenge Day 8 : In your own space, talk about a talent (or talents) you have. Everyone's got something they're good at. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I'm good at baking.

Some samples of my work :

Many people have enabled me in my baking ventures. My cousin Lisa, whose passion for baked goods lends support for a "baking gene" theory, gave me the plate those madeleines are sitting on. One of my students gave me the violin and eighth note cookie cutters. A's aunt gave me the madeleine pan.

In addition to being good at baking, I also enjoy it. I would bake more, but my willingness to wash dishes is nowhere near as high as my interest in producing cookies, cakes, cupcakes and/or pies. Which is to say : dishes are the limiting reagent in my baking life.

Favourite recipes include : pecan pie, lemon bundt, gingersnaps. Number one pet peeve : the unpredictability of pie crusts.

Both the cookies and the madeleines are amazing! I used to bake a lot but nobody eats them (or complains incessantly about calories while eating them *coughmomcough*) so I've moved on to cooking things instead. I really miss it, though.

I wonder if anyone would be up for a bake-off/party type of thing?

Ici MP! I wish I had inherited that gene, because cooking in general is not my cup of tea. Although maybe if that whole "SO MUCH DISHES" thing that comes after was out of the way, I'd have much more enthousiasm. How do you deal? Does A. cope with said dishes? After all, when it comes to your baking, he's probably your #1 fan, right? :3

...you'd be surprised. Like I told Shoshanna yesterday, A probably washes more dishes than I do, but not on command. So like, if I decide I want to make a cake, that's my problem?
